Exclusive: Tariffs not necessarily tied to border issues
In a broadcast exclusive, the new U.S. Ambassador to Canada says the White House wants to move forward with a new Canadian trade deal. Citing the Trump administration making a deal with the U.K. within its first 100 days in the White House as an example, the ambassador says now that there's a new government in Canada, "hopefully we will get to an agreement relatively quickly." Hoekstra also gives his thoughts on whether all tariffs will be here to stay.
