UPDATE 11:50 P.M.: A police standoff with a Lake Country senior has come to an end.
The man who kept RCMP at bay for almost five hours outside his unit at the Winfield Mobile Home Park has been taken away from the scene by ambulance.
His condition is unknown but he is being taken to hospital, according to emergency crews at the scene.
Beaver Lake Rd. remains blocked off but it is expected to be reopened when police clear the scene.
The location is on the border of Lake Country and Kelowna.
UPDATE 10:40 P.M.: Numerous loud bangs were heard coming from the area where police are negotiating with a man who refuses to leave his home.
Police say the man is alone in the mobile home.
RCMP said he is believed to be in need of assistance and may have access to weapons.

“The situation remains fluid at this time, and the RCMP ask the general public to avoid the immediate area, while police continue their efforts of working towards a peaceful resolution for all involved,” Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey, Kelowna RCMP spokesperson, said.

Lake Country and Kelowna RCMP have surrounded a home off Beaver Lake Road at the Winfield Mobile Home Park.
The standoff began just before 7 p.m. tonight and the Emergency Response Team has surrounded the home.
Neighbours have been removed from nearby the home in hast.
The 68-year-old man apparently made some posts on social media that concerned police, according to a park resident.
