After it was revealed that Liberal leader Mark Carney won the federal election Monday night, Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre spoke before supporters at his party’s headquarters in Ottawa, temporarily putting aside his political differences to congratulate Carney. “We’ll have plenty of time to debate and disagree,” Poilievre said. “[And] we will do our constitutional duty of holding government to account.”
